Schippers on Dutch national radio ‘Met het Oog op Morgen’, NOS On the banks of the Lemmer-Delfzijl waterway which flows like a living artery through the Dutch provinces of Groningen and Fryslân, on Friday September 1st 2006, eighty-four biographers wrote the ‘Biography of the Lemmer-Delfzijl waterway’. The 84 authors spent a whole day, each manning a different observation post along the length of the navigation route. They included well-known Dutch writers such as K. Schippers, Nicolaas Matsier, Pauline Slot, Maria Barnas and Hans Aarsman, but also specialists such as a geographer, a biologist, an agriculturalist, a historian, an anthropologist and someone who grew up in a sailor’s family. Followed closely by the press, they sat by bridges, locks, ferries, aqueducts, yacht-basins, industrial terrains, on campsites and on boats on the waterway.    In order to purchase something, please send us an email with your requests or inquiries. We use PayPal for payment, but if you live in the Netherlands or within the EU we prefer payment by bank transfer – contact us for details. All orders must be paid in advance. All prices on the website are in euros. Prices quoted include sales tax (VAT/BTW) but do not include postage – these will be added to the price. An itemized invoice with specified tax and shipping costs will be sent with all purchases. For shipment of multiple orders, please delay payment until we have informed you of the correct amount for shipping costs.  Unfortunately international shipping from the Netherlands is quite expensive. We really try to keep postage costs as low as possible by using a standard shipping method, without tracking numbers etc. This means that goods are uninsured. If you prefer your parcel to be shipped with insurance, please contact us before purchasing.  We cannot be held responsible for any uninsured purchases getting lost in the mail (a rare occurrence) or packages being damaged by the postal services. But if such should occur, please feel free to contact us and we’ll see if we can arrange something. We are located in the Netherlands. Post takes about 7 days within the EU, worldwide 7-14 days, but - because we do a lot of site specific art projects and are often on the road - the shop is not always manned. Nevertheless, we will do our best to process your order as fast as possible. |
